The CHPO 58A compatibility list includes Glock 42 and Glock 43. Compatibility with Glock 43X or 43X MOS should not be assumed, as the manufacturer offers a separate holster size for these models. Is the holster suitable for the SIG P365X or P365XL models? The manufacturer lists the standard SIG P365 model as compatible. Compatibility with P365 versions with longer slides or different grips must be confirmed separately before purchase. Can the holster be used with a red dot sight? Yes. The holster features an optics cut, but compatibility depends on the specific sight’s dimensions, mounting position, and height. The sight must not catch on the holster edge or metal clip. Is the holster suitable for pistols with a weapon light or laser? The manufacturer confirms the optics cut, but not compatibility with lights or lasers mounted under the barrel. For such accessories, choose a holster made specifically for your firearm and accessory combination. Is this a rigid, precisely molded holster? No. The CHPO 58A is a soft holster suitable for several firearm models. Retention is based on the holster’s shape, material, and the pressure from the belt and body, not on a rigid mold or adjustable retention screw. Does the holster have an active retention device? No. The open-top holster has no retention strap or active locking mechanism. Before carrying, ensure the firearm stays securely in place during normal movement and that the trigger guard is fully covered. Can this model be used for right-handed carry? The CHPO 58A (LH) is made for left-handed draw. For right-handed carry, choose the RH version of the same holster. Can the holster be used without an optical sight? Yes. The optics cut generally does not prevent the holster from being used without a sight, as long as the pistol otherwise matches the CHPO 58A compatibility list. When is the Houston CHPO 58A the right choice? This holster is suitable for left-handed users who wish to carry a compact pistol from the manufacturer’s compatibility list concealed inside the waistband. The optics cut also makes it a practical choice for a compact pistol with a red dot sight. A rigid, precisely molded holster may be a better choice if you want adjustable retention, secure locking, or the easiest one-handed holstering. When using a weapon light or laser, choose a holster made for the specific accessory. Expert recommendation The fit of a soft holster made for multiple guns must be checked with the exact firearm and sight you intend to carry. With an unloaded firearm, ensure the trigger guard is fully covered, the magazine release and other controls are not activated, and the optic does not catch on the holster edge. Also check that the firearm stays securely in place during normal movement. The mouth of a soft holster may collapse after drawing the firearm. Do not force the firearm into a collapsed holster or put your fingers near the trigger guard. If necessary, remove the holster from the waistband and insert the unloaded firearm before reattaching the holster. Carry your firearm only in accordance with applicable laws and license conditions.
