The holder has five elastic cartridge loops. Is the holder suitable for all calibers? The manufacturer describes it as a shotgun cartridge holder, but different calibers have different cartridge diameters. The fit for specific ammunition should be checked before use. Can cartridges get wet in the rain? Yes. The cartridges are in open loops and the holder is not waterproof. Does the holder interfere with shouldering the gun? If installed correctly, it should not interfere with handling the firearm. However, the position of the cartridges and the height of the holder should be checked before hunting or competition. When is the Allen AL-205 the right choice? This model is suitable for users who want to carry five extra cartridges on the gun as simply and with as little extra weight as possible. The open loops allow for quick access to cartridges. If you need better grip, a softer cheek contact, or camouflage, consider a neoprene model. For complete ammunition protection, use a closed cartridge pouch. Recommendations We recommend filling the holder with the cartridges you intend to use and checking it before going hunting or to the range. The loops must hold the cartridges securely, even when the gun is carried on a sling or when moving over rough terrain. Position the holder so that the metal parts of the cartridges do not rest under your cheek or interfere with shouldering the gun. Also check that the holder does not cover the sling attachment point. After rain or snow, remove the cartridges and dry both the holder and the stock. Do not leave a wet elastic holder against wood or metal parts for long periods. Five cartridges quickly within reach The Allen AL-205 is a lightweight, simple, and quickly installed cartridge holder for shotgun stocks. It is ideal for hunters or sport shooters who want to keep five spare cartridges immediately at hand.
