The Rapala BX Swimmer features an articulated body with two pivot joints that create a smooth, moderate rolling action. The responsive balsa core gives the lure an active swimming action even at very slow retrieve speeds, while the flat-sided body produces strong flash as it rolls.

A durable copolymer shell protects the balsa interior and allows detailed molded features such as the 3D head, gills and scales. Internal X-foil, 3D holographic eyes and lifelike finishes add visual attraction. The lure is balanced for long casts and is designed to sink slowly.

Recommendation

The Rapala BX Swimmer is a good option when you want the natural movement of a jointed lure while maintaining an effective action at slow retrieve speeds. Its responsive balsa core and double-pivot body create a smooth rolling action, while the slow-sinking design allows you to vary the presentation during pauses. With a running depth of 1.2–1.8 m and a weight of 22 g, it is suitable for covering different water layers while still offering good casting distance.
