Before using the ice claws, ensure that:

• the blades of the ice claws are straight
• the cord is intact
• plastic parts are not damaged
• the fastening screws are properly tightened

Usage:

• adjust the ice claws so they hang at a suitable height around your neck
• lock the cord into the groove
• always wear the ice claws over clothing to allow quick access
• keep the claws nested inside each other to prevent danger

In an emergency, proceed as follows:

• pull the ice claws apart
• hold the claws in your hand with the blades facing downward
• strike the blades forcefully into the ice and try to pull yourself onto the ice
• always try to move in the direction from which you came
• repeat the action until you reach solid ice
• while lying down, rotate in the direction you came from until you reach stable ground
• try to get warm quickly
