Please check the selected size and pack quantity before ordering. Frequently Asked Questions How do I rig a soft bait onto the VMC 7346 SL hook? Screw the spiral at the front of the hook into the center of the soft bait’s nose. Then measure the hook exit point, push the hook point through the bait’s body, and lightly hide the tip in the soft material for a weedless setup. Which hook size should I choose? Select the size based on the soft bait’s length, height, and body thickness. The hook gap should leave enough space for the bait to compress during a strike. For smaller or slimmer lures, #9/0 is suitable; for larger, bulkier swimbaits, #11/0 or #13/0 may be better. What does the 21 g fixed weight provide? The weight helps achieve longer casts, gets the lure into deeper water, and keeps it stable during retrieve. Actual fishing depth depends on lure buoyancy, retrieve speed, current, and line used. Is the hook suitable for fishing in weeds? Yes. The hook can be rigged so the point sits inside or just under the surface of the soft bait. This reduces snagging on vegetation and branches, but does not make the rig completely snag-proof. When is the VMC 7346 SL 21 g the right choice? This hook is ideal for using large soft baits in situations where the lure needs to reach deeper or be fished near obstacles. The fixed 21 g weight keeps the rig compact and eliminates the need for a separate jig head or extra weight. The Heavy Duty construction is designed for big fish and demanding fishing conditions. For shallow water, very slow retrieves, or surface fishing, 21 g may be too heavy. In such cases, choose a lighter version from the same series. If there are almost no obstacles at the fishing spot and you want a fully exposed hook point, a classic jig head may offer a simpler solution. Recommendations Before choosing a hook, place it next to your soft bait and check where the point will exit the body. The hook should reach far enough back, but a model that is too long may stiffen the tail section and reduce the lure’s natural movement. There should be enough space between the hook gap and the bait’s belly for a proper hookset. Screw the spiral into the lure’s nose as close to the centerline as possible. A crookedly rigged bait may run sideways or start spinning during retrieve. Check the lure’s swimming action next to the boat or in shallow water first, and re-rig if necessary. Use line, leader, and terminal tackle of suitable strength for the whole setup. After contact with the bottom, rocks, or a big fish’s jaws, check the point and bait attachment. After saltwater use, rinse the hook with freshwater and dry before storage. Strong weighted swimbait hook for big predators The VMC 7346 SL 21 g combines a fixed weight, wide hook gap, and robust forged construction. Sizes #9/0, #11/0, and #13/0 allow you to match the hook to different soft bait sizes and create a stable, weedless rig for demanding predator fishing.
