IWB comes from the English term "inside the waistband" and means that the main part of the holster is carried between the pants and the body. The attachment clip hooks onto the belt or waistband. Is the holster suitable for left-handed users? No. The K 17G (RH) is a right-handed model. For left-handed carry, choose the LH version made for the same firearm group. Can the retention be adjusted? Yes. The manufacturer describes the holster's firearm retention as adjustable. When adjusting the screws, make small and equal changes and always check the result with an unloaded firearm. Is the holster compatible with Glock Gen 5 pistols? The manufacturer's compatibility list for the 17G variant is marked "Except Gen 5." Therefore, Gen 5 compatibility should not be assumed without separate verification. This is also important for the Glock 47, as the model is listed as compatible but is part of the Gen 5 design family. Is the holster suitable for a Glock with a red dot sight? The manufacturer does not specify the presence of an optic cut for this variant. If a red dot sight or higher-than-standard sights are installed on the pistol, compatibility must be confirmed before purchase. Can the holster be used with a weapon light or laser? Compatibility with a weapon light or laser is not specified for this model. An under-barrel accessory changes the dimensions of the pistol and usually requires a holster made specifically for the particular firearm and accessory combination. What is the purpose of the holster's inner lining? The soft lining reduces direct friction of Kydex against the outer surface of the pistol. This helps protect the finish, but with regular use, normal wear marks cannot be completely avoided. When is the Houston K 17G the right choice? This holster is suitable for right-handed full-size Glock users who want to carry their pistol inside the waistband. The molded Kydex construction is a practical choice when maintaining the holster's shape and adjustable firearm retention are important. For Gen 5 pistols, red dot sights, weapon lights, lasers, or other accessories that change dimensions, compatibility must be confirmed before purchase. A soft universal holster may fit more firearms but does not offer the same molded fit. Expert recommendation Before carrying, check the holster's fit with a completely unloaded pistol. Make sure the firearm stays secure, the trigger is fully covered, and the clip attaches firmly to the belt. Adjust the retention so that the pistol does not move during normal activity, but can be drawn with a controlled pull. Practice drawing and reholstering first without live ammunition. When reholstering, ensure that clothing or other objects do not enter the trigger guard area. Regularly check the condition of the attachment clip and retention screws.
