Frequently Asked Questions

How big are the Hunter’s Specialties Quarter Size game bags?

Each bag measures 102 × 122 cm (40 × 48 inches). The size is primarily designed for a big game quarter or a similar-sized meat cut.

How many game bags are included in the set?

The package contains four separate bags. This allows you to separate and store the larger parts of a processed animal, with each meat cut in its own bag.

Can these game bags be washed and reused?

Yes, the bags are washable and reusable. After use, clean them according to care instructions, dry them thoroughly, and inspect for damage before the next use.

Do the bags keep game meat cool?

No. Game bags are not insulated and do not replace a cooler or cold chain. Meat should be cooled as quickly as possible and kept at a safe temperature for food safety.

Are the game bags insect-proof?

The bag and its drawstring help reduce insect access, but effectiveness depends on proper closure and absence of damage. Do not leave the bag in direct sunlight or unattended for long periods.

Can the bag be used to carry heavy meat cuts?

The main purpose of a game bag is to surround and protect the meat. When carrying heavy meat cuts, support the weight with a stretcher, sled, backpack, or other suitable aid—do not rely solely on the bag’s drawstring.

When are Hunter’s Specialties Quarter Size game bags the right choice?

The four-bag set is practical when big game is quartered outdoors and each large meat cut needs separate protection. The 102 × 122 cm size suits users who don’t need one very long bag but prefer several more manageable game bags.

If your meat cut is longer or you want more coverage, consider the 102 × 183 cm Full Size model. For a single, stronger canvas bag, the Deluxe version may be suitable. No game bag replaces rapid cooling, proper hygiene, or a leak-proof transport box for vehicle use.

Expert recommendation

The biggest advantage of four separate bags is the ability to divide the game into smaller portions. This prevents all the meat from accumulating in one heavy bundle and allows air to circulate better around the cuts. Place the cleanest possible meat in the bag and avoid placing the bag directly on soil, mud, or a dirty vehicle surface.

Close the top of the bag with the provided drawstring, but do not use it as a handle for carrying heavy weights. When transporting, support the meat cut with a stretcher, sled, or suitable hunting bag. The game bag helps protect the meat but does not cool it: move your game quickly to a shaded and cool area and follow all hygiene and temperature guidelines for handling game meat.

After use, clean the bags according to the manufacturer’s care instructions, let them dry completely, and check seams and fabric. Replace any damaged or hard-to-clean bag before your next hunt.
